Archive Management System update

This is a regular monthly update about the Archive Management System project

Migration

A preliminary set of catalogues has been successfully migrated from the UL Archive and Modern MSS departments AtoM system into ArchivesSpace. It is excellent to have reached this milestone before the end of the year and our tech team have really done us proud. Now there is work to be done on refining the migration paths from AtoM to ArchivesSpace plus testing, testing and more testing. In-depth work has also begun on Cantab as preparation for the first migrations from UL Cantab datasets to ArchivesSpace.

Uptake

We are delighted by the number of full partners in the AMS project. We now have 29 partners from across the University and colleges.

System go live and training

Our partner organisations have been sending us information about the number of people they would like to receive training/access documentation about ArchivesSpace. This information has been extremely useful in planning ahead for 2020.

It’s been a very busy and productive year for the AMS project team – in 2020 we will continue to focus project resources on robust migrations and good data management.

All the best for the Christmas break,

Natalie Adams and the AMS Project Team
